Lee Gottesman Obituary

It is with deep sadness and love that we announce the passing of Lee Arthur Gottesman, born on January 7, 1957. His 7-month-long fight against esophageal cancer came to an end on September 15, 2025. He was surrounded by family and passed comfortably at home in Holland, PA.

Lee, as he was affectionately known, was - and still is - everything to everyone. He opened his arms and heart to everyone he met and had a unique ability to turn strangers into friends in an instant. He owned a general contracting business and took pride in his honest entrepreneurial disposition. His honesty, dedication, patience, calmness, and love are what made everyone (employees, customers, product distributors, medical staff, Dunkin’ workers, friends, and everyone in between) fall in love with him. However, no one loved him more than his family. Every choice he ever made was to ensure that he gave them the best life. He will be forever known as the epitome of a family man - the most loving husband, doting father, and, as his grandbabies would say, awesome PopPop.

He was predeceased by his loving mother and father, Rita and Erwin Gottesman, as well as his beloved brother, David Gottesman, and his four-legged little boy, Lucky. Their memory, and now Lee’s, lives on with his wife of almost 45 years, Ellen Gottesman, daughters and sons-in-love Amy (Matthew), Penny (Paul), and Emily (Gabriel), grandchildren Sophia, Jake, Madison, and Spencer, and brother Mark Gottesman.

Friends and family are invited to Graveside Services Sunday, September 21, 1:30 PM precisely at Shalom Memorial Park (Sec. Hannah), 3573 Pine Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Shiva will be observed Sunday only at the home of Amy Gottesman and Matthew Baron.

In lieu of flowers, Lee’s family requests that you make donations in his honor to the American Cancer Society or another organization of your choice. They also request that everyone learns to live like Lee, with a seemingly impossible amount of kindness day in and day out.

P.S. Make sure your sound is on to hear a song from him. "Every little thing is gonna be alright."
