Obituary of Lee E. Jones
ALBANY –
Mr. Lee E. Jones, 68, of Albany, formerly of Rome, New York, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, in Albany.
Born on May 4, 1957, in Mt. Vernon, New York, Lee was the beloved son of the late Leonard Jones and Naomi (Warner) Jones. In 1979, he moved to California, later settling in the Utica/Rome area in 1985, where he resided until 2022. That year, he relocated to Albany and made his home at Hudson Park Rehabilitation Center, where he remained until his passing.
Lee received his high school education and continued his studies in technical school. A hardworking man, he was self-employed as a painter and also worked as a monitor for Birnie Bus. He served his country in the United States Navy as a Boatswain's Mate from 1979 to 1982. In his leisure time, Lee enjoyed relaxing with friends, having a beer while watching television.
He will be deeply missed by his children: Lee Jones Jr., Brenda Jones, Katrina King, Sylvanus Jones, Naomi Jones, and Sierra Jones; his grandchildren: Emmanuel King, Kiara King, Yahirah Jones, Saraya Jones, Damari King, Zavion Jones, and Zy'mir Jones; and his great-grandchild, Kairo Bristow. He is also survived by his siblings: Patricia Jones, Rose Marie Jones, Larretta Ann Jones, Leonard Jones Jr., and Sandra Jenkins.
Lee will also be fondly remembered by his special friends, Renee Picente, James Roland, Kathy Craig, and Pam Kuhn.
He was predeceased by his loving partner, Cynthia McCormick, his dear friend, Deon Garner Kuhn, and his parents.
The Jones family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hudson Park Rehabilitation Center, St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, The Community Hospice, and Simple Choices, Inc. for their kindness and care.
Arrangements are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the Jones family online at SimpleChoicesCremation.com.
