Lee Puckett, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, entered eternal rest on January 26, 2025, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 11, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio, Lee lived a life filled with love, art, and cherished memories.
A proud Navy veteran who served in the Vietnam War, Lee's dedication to his country was only paralleled by his devotion to his family. He experienced profound challenges during his service, sustaining injuries on a naval ship which led to an honorable discharge. This experience shaped him, but it was his caring nature that marked his life deeply.
Lee was well-known as an extraordinary artist, gaining recognition for his drawing talent and receiving awards for his remarkable artworks. His talent took shape after completing a commercial art program at an art school, a journey that began post-Navy and blossomed into a life-long passion. Loved by everyone who knew him, Lee was not only admired for his artistic abilities but also for his kind and gentle demeanor.
For 52 beautiful years, Lee was the treasured husband of Sharon Puckett. Their bond was a testament to true companionship, as they were partners in all things, enjoying each other's company through outings to savor good food and shopping adventures. Together for 62 years, their love story was interwoven with caring acts, always looking out for one another, and sharing countless memories that will be forever cherished.
As a father, Lee’s love extended profoundly to his children, Deb (Dan) Watson and Lee (Annie) Puckett. He took great joy in nurturing their dreams and supporting their endeavors. His spirit now lives on through his grandsons, Sean McNamee and Tyler (Katie) Puckett, and five great-grandchildren who brought immense happiness into his life.
Lee is also survived by his cherished sister, Jill Shelfo, and a host of loving relatives, including his niece, Missy Baugas, and nephew, Kenny Rinehart. Each of their lives was touched by Lee’s warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering support.
Alongside the family he leaves behind, he will always honor the memory of those who have passed before him, including his son, Steeven Puckett; father, Walt Puckett; mother, Dottie Puckett; brother, Terry Puckett; sister, Debbie Daniels; mother-in-law, Doris Smith; sister-in-law, Janelle Evans; and granddaughter-in-law, Taylor McNamee. Their legacies, intertwined with Lee’s, will forever resonate within the hearts of those he loved.
Lee basked in life’s simple pleasures—exploring the outdoors, enjoying car shows, listening to vintage music, nurturing flowers, especially sunflowers, watching hummingbirds and relishing moments by the water and basking in the sun. His love for reading and drinking Coca-Cola were just small glimpses into the joy he found in everyday activities.
Though his departure leaves an indelible void, Lee's life serves as a beautiful reminder of the love, kindness, and art that he shared with the world. He touched many lives with his gentle presence and is eternally loved and missed.
