Leigh-Ann Splawn, a cherished soul and loving mother, left this world on April 11, 2025, in Southaven, MS. Born on August 31, 1979, in Memphis, TN, she blossomed into a person whose warmth and kindness resonated with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Leigh-Ann's heart was nothing short of golden; she was a loving and caring individual who devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, particularly her two beloved children, Savannah Brooke Sykes and Ethan Sykes. They were undoubtedly her proudest accomplishments.
Throughout her life, Leigh-Ann carved out beautiful memories, such as the playful and innocent moments from her childhood getting ready for church. One particularly endearing memory is when, in a moment of youthful distraction, she misplaced her shoes only to find them tucked away in her lunchbox. This charming anecdote is a reflection of her sensitive and soft-hearted demeanor, a characteristic that endeared her to many.
Leigh-Ann's life was enriched by her loving relationships with her parents, Ronald and Diane (Thomason) Sykes, who she loved to no end. As a sister, she was an integral part of a close-knit family, cherished by her siblings: Ronald Sykes, Jr., Jeff Sykes (Melanie), Melissa Ferrante, and Melanie Brown (Lynn). She also left two loving children. The bonds they shared grew stronger over time, particularly during a profound two-week period that brought them even closer together. She will also be remembered for her love for her aunts Carolyn "Amy" Carpenter (Marvin) and Sherry Stone, who held a special place in her heart.
Leigh-Ann had an adventurous spirit, demonstrated through her passion for traveling, attending concerts, and cheering for her team at Tennessee games. Her zest for exploring different cities showcased her vibrant personality, and anyone who spent time with her knew that her presence illuminated every gathering.
While we mourn the loss of Leigh-Ann, we also celebrate the legacy she leaves behind. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends and in the joyful spirit she brought to those around her.
Leigh-Ann's final tribute will take place at The Carter Memorial Chapel at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven, MS, on April 16, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, and she will be lovingly laid to rest at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens at 11:45 AM.
Leigh-Ann Splawn was preceded in death by her beloved Pepaw Billy Thomason, Granny Bertha Thomason, and Uncle Kenney Stone. Their embrace warmly welcomes her back as we strive to carry her spirit forward in our lives. May her golden heart shine down upon us always, guiding us with love and compassion.
