Vernice was a retired cafeteria cook for both Winnsboro ISD and Winnsboro Presbyterian Hospital. She was a longtime member and song leader of Coldwater Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, singing and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Jack Weems in 2012; son Terry Weems and grandsons, Jeremiah and Brandon.
Survivors include her sons, Jackie Weems and wife Theresa of Winnsboro, Kenny Weems and wife Cindy of Winnsboro; daughter, Vickie Brenton and husband Rodney of Winnsboro; sister, Patricia Carpenter of Irving; nine grandchildren, Misty, Cole, Benjamin, Stephanie, Jamie, Tonya, Jason, Jonathan, and Karrie; twenty-one great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home 816 W. Broadway Winnsboro, TX. Graveside Service will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Smyrna Cemetery CR 4450 Winnsboro, TX with Bro. Donny Chamberlain conducting. Serving as pallbearers will be Cole Weems, Jamie Weems, Benjamin Weems, Jason Rader, Jonathan Rader, Timothy Mays.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Coldwater Baptist Church.
