Lela Magnolia Curtis

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lela Magnolia Curtis, of Evansville IN, on March 16th, 2025, age 22. Lela was boundless in her curiosity of the world and in her love and empathy of all others – whether it be family, friends, animals, or those she had never even met. Her impact on those she encountered is indescribable. Her passion for those she cared about or for one of the many subjects for which she loved to learn and share was without compare.
While we mourn the loss of this beautiful brilliant light, she would absolutely want us to remember the first law of thermodynamics – the energy that sustained her being is not extinguished forever, but rather, like stardust, will continue to shine indefinitely.
Lela is survived by her parents, Sarah (Curtis) and Jeremy Huff and Christopher Batson; brother, William Huff; grandparents, Mary Anne Hartmann, Michael and Gretchen Huff and Don Batson; uncles, Samuel Huff, Christopher Huff and Caleb Batson; and an abundance of other loving relatives.
She is preceded in death by her (very favorite) aunt, Elizabeth Curtis-Robinson; grandparents, Fowler Curtis, Jr. and Donna Curtis; and grandmother, Mary Lea Batson.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Ave., Evansville. A Memorial service will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
