Leland Good Obituary

Leland Virgil Good, 84, of Prospect, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 19th, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Independence, Kansas, on October 27, 1940, to parents; Tom Good and Leona (Rittenbaucher) Good.
Leland's family moved from Kansas to Louisville during his teenage years. Upon graduation from high school, Leland enlisted in the United States Navy, and later served his country further as a member of the United States Naval Reserve. After completing his military service, he followed in the trade of his father, becoming a skilled painter and craftsman.
Leland was known for his sense of humor and big heart. He loved to tell jokes, flirt, and take care of those around him. The Good household was known as a haven for children with issues at home. He took in and cared for others as he would his own family, never expecting anything in return. Leland was a gifted artisan, and passed his trade on to anyone willing to learn and improve themselves. He is fondly remembered by his family as a ladies man, a sweet talker, and big flirt. In addition to being a selfless and empathetic man, he was also a huge Las Vegas Raiders fan, an avid pool player, and an animal lover. But, Leland was not a pushover – he was a gentle man that commanded respect, and extended that respect to others in kind. His dad jokes, the "Leland Virgil dad look", and the sound of his laughter will echo in the hearts of his family for years to come.
Leland was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Marvin Good. Those left to cherish his memory are daughters, Terry Hinton and Laura McCormack (Ted); son, Jeffrey Good; sister, Beverly Gregor (Lonnie); grandchildren, Tommy Hinton, Joey Gullett, Jessaca Gullett, and Shane Good; great-grandchildren, Brock Gullett, Ayden Gullett, Mark Gullett, Mason Farrow, and Silas Good.
A committal service will be held on Friday, November 7th, 11:00AM, at the New Albany National Cemetery. Military honors will follow services.
Donations in Leland's name may be made to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
