Lelia D. Howery was peacefully called to her heavenly home on September 27th, shortly after her 96th birthday. She was a devout Christian, secure and grounded in her faith, always inspiring a "can do" attitude. She was loyal, practical, reliable and an avid reader. She took pride in her home; enjoyed gardening and her devotion to detail was evident as a master seamstress & quilter, in her oil paintings, ceramics and numerous crafting projects. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Cole, son-in-law, Rick Cole, daughter-in-law Waynette Sue Howery, grandsons & daughters: Jereme Howery (Kara), Danielle Howery, Kelly Hoen (London), Sarah Basile (Nick), Christopher Howery, Samantha "Sam" Cole (Lydia), Jessica Cole (Abby), Matt Howery, a niece: Karen Campbell (Jerry), & eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Ralph M Howery, Jr. sons, Ralph M. Howery, III "Stormy" and Larry G. Howery. "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know." Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." - John14:2-6 A very special & sincere thank you & acknowledgment to the entire staff at Bloom at Kessler & Bloom at German Church assisted living facilities and Accent Hospice for their unwavering devotion and compassion. To honor Lelia's wishes, a public service will not be held. Lelia's final resting place will be at Washington Park East Cemetery, 10612 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Alzheimer's Association Indiana Chapter, 50 E. 91st.
