A Visitation and Funeral Service to remember the life of Lelia “Jean” Tucker will be held at Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes Downtown in Meridian on April 4th. The Visitation will commence at 10:00 AM, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Bro. Mike Bryd officiating. Burial will be at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery.
Jean passed away in Meridian, Mississippi on April 2, 2024. She was born in Alabama on January 11, 1938. She was a compassionate soul who dedicated 4 decades of her life to nursing of which she spent 35 years at Anderson Hospital where she cared for the people of Meridian and the surrounding area.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jean found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She adored traveling to new places, cherishing moments with family and friends, and creating delicious meals in the kitchen. Her proudest accomplishments were being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Jean will be deeply missed by her daughter Tammy Clark & her husband John of Meridian, MS; grandson Tucker Clark and his wife Allison of Brandon, MS; and her sister Evelyn Cole of Jefferson, AL.
She is now reunited in peace with her husband James W. Tucker, parents Julian & Zula Maten, son Greg Tucker, brothers George and James Matten, sisters Pauline Wilson, Gladys Jenkins, and Louise Jenkins.
Jean Tucker's legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness will continue to live on through all the people she helped and cared for during her lifetime. May she rest in eternal peace.
