Lena Kathryn Nix

Lena Kathryn Nix, 79, was born in Chipley, Florida on January 15, 1946, and passed away peacefully in her home in Brooksville, Florida on December 8, 2025, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.
Lena is a 1964 graduate of Hernando High School.
She was the widow of Holbert Junior Nix, and a faithful member of Stable Faith Cowboy Church.
A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she filled her days with simple joys that meant everything to the people around her. She loved babysitting-whether it was her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, or the children in the community, and she had a special way of making every child feel seen, safe, and cherished.
She also enjoyed sewing; a craft she used to bless others with gifts made from the heart.
She will be remembered most for her unconditional love, her gentle spirit, and her wonderfully giving heart. Her presence made life warmer, kinder, and better for all who knew her.
She is survived by her brothers, Richard Hatcher and his wife, Claire Ann, and Bill Allen and his wife, Ann; her sister, Carolyn Edwards; her children, Schelena Sawyer and her husband, Bill Mullins; Willena Boney and her husband, Jason; Christopher Nix, and Jennifer Batten and her husband, Sam; thirteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was a beloved mother and truly the best Mamaw in the whole world. Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the many lives she touched.
