Nettie Maude Neal Nix, born on May 7, 1941, in Blountsville, Alabama, passed away on December 9, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. A cherished sister, aunt, and friend, Nettie will be remembered fondly for her warm spirit and passion for life.
As the former owner of an antique and gift shop in Mineola, Nettie possessed an eye for beauty and a knack for bringing joy to those around her through her carefully curated treasures. Her love for gardening reflected her nurturing nature, as she cultivated both plants and lasting friendships with the same tender care. Nettie was also a devoted participant in Bible study, which provided her with strength and guidance throughout her life.
Nettie is survived by her brother, Harold Neal and his wife, Bobbye; her sisters, Bobbie Scott and husband, Michael and Linda McClellan and her husband, Tony; along with a host of nieces and nephews. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known her.
Nettie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Nix, parents, Eugene and Louella Neal, brothers, Frank Neal, and Arlin Neal, along with sisters, Ruth Rhodes, and Yvonne Wright.
The visitation will take place on December 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Mineola, Texas. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM in the same chapel, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and share in their fond memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Nettie's caring spirit and dedication to helping others.
Nettie Maude Neal Nix will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
