Rodney Earl Patrick, born July 31,1967 in Tyler, TX to Bobby Doyle Patrick and Betty Joy Jumper Patrick. Rodney lived in Golden, TX his entire life. He attended school in Quitman until 8th grade, he then moved to Alba-Golden schools where he graduated in 1985. After graduation, Rodney attended Tyler Jr. College studying surveying.
Rodney began working at Tyler Pipe in 1990 and was there for 22 years. Rodney was offered a job at Peoples Telephone in 2013 where he worked until he retired in 2021. Rodney was married to Patricia Jean Smith for 32 years, they have two boys - Eric Blane Patrick and Evan Doyle Patrick.
Rodney enjoyed working in the hay field as well as hunting and fishing. He served on the Golden Water Board for the past 4 years. He loved working and spending time with his family and friends. Rodney was a great mechanic and loved working in his shop. He was a positive and friendly guy who many called their friend.
Rodney is preceded in death by his father, Bob Patrick and father-in-law Michael Foster. Survivors include his wife- Patricia Patrick, sons -Eric Patrick and Evan Patrick, mother -Betty Patrick, brother - Billy Patrick and wife Kay, sister- Jan Owens and husband Johnny, mother-in-law Elizabeth (Jeannie) Foster, brother-in-laws John (Phillip) Smith, Tony Hill and wife Gay, as well as several nieces and nephews. Rodney had many friends and made a positive impact on all, he would like to recognize Jose Villeda and wife, Juana as well as Arturo as his honorary family members. They have been close to Rodney since they moved to Golden many years ago. He wanted Jose, Juana Mayorga and Arturo Urias to know how grateful he was for your love and friendship.
Rodney said he has been blessed with an incredible family and has made some of the best life-long friends a man could ever have. Rodney lived very humbly and never wanted to inconvenience anyone. He was truly a great man.
