Lennick "Nicky" Williams

Lennick "Nicky" Williams, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at a local care center, surrounded by her loving family.

Nicky was born in Tébessa, Algeria, on June 30, 1942, to the late George and Rachael Laurette Vergne. A proud French citizen, she married the love of her life, Willis Williams, and together they built a life in the United States, sharing 62 wonderful years of marriage.

Nicky found joy in life's simple pleasures - family vacations to the mountains, long scenic "rides" that often ended with a stop at Dairy Queen, and creating treasured memories with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also had a well-known love for furniture shopping; although pieces rarely stayed long in her own home, they always found new homes with her children and grandchildren - a reflection of her generous spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Yves Vergne; her sister, Anne Marie Vergne; and her grandson, Shane Miller.

Nicky leaves behind her devoted husband, Willis Williams; her seven daughters, Shelia Perry, Loretta Gowens (Gene), Stephanie Miller, Stacey Bell, Alexandra Hancock (Joe), Pamela Johnston, and Christina Hornsby (Mike); 16 grandchildren, Chris, Shauntrell, Nehemiah, Andrew (Gaby), Logan (Shayna), Timothy (Virginia), Nicole (Randy), Alexandra, Jaimika (Chase), Justin, Abigail (Travis), Allyson (Logan), Addyson, Ansley, Warren (Kaylee), and Sydney (Antonio); and 14 great-grandchildren, Chris Jr., Journi, Harmoni, Charlotte, Dillon, Bristol, TJ, Teagan, Madelynn, Stevie Mae, Chandler, Colby, Sutton Noelle, and Amelia, expected in June. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Event Center at Peeples, 14165 N. Main Street (Building C).

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of The Canopy at Duval Station-Memory Care for the compassionate and wonderful care they provided over the past year and a half.
