Dougherty Funeral Home - HibbingLenore Marie Quick, 97, formerly of Kitzville, MN, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Saturday, November 15, 2025. She was born on August 27, 1928, to Pasquale and Celia (Dimatteo) Politano in Hibbing, MN. Her final years were spent living with her son Patrick and his family in Illinois, being loved on -and spoiled! - as she always said. Her greatest wish was to be with them, and that wish was fulfilled.
Lenore was a joy to be around, and she lifted people’s hearts wherever she went. She was always helping, always caring, always serving – she truly spent her life on the behalf of others. One of her dearest friends once said that trying to describe Lenore was like “trying to capture sunshine in a jar”.
Lenore graduated from Hibbing High School in 1946 and moved away from home to work at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C, where she eventually rose to the position of “General’s Assistant”. From there she moved down to Dallas, TX to live and work before eventually coming back home to Hibbing to settle down. She truly loved people, and she used her many talents in various capacities, from being an administrative assistant to becoming an office manager for several financial institutions, most recently being Raymond James in Hibbing.
Lenore was very involved with her community and local businesses. She was on the State Board of Technical Colleges, chapter president of the Business and Professional Women Organization, a candidate for the Advisory Council for the State of Minnesota, a member of the area Ladies Elks, and a member of the Kitzville Senior and Community Club. She also volunteered at the Hibbing Hospital.
Lenore is survived by her son Patrick (Katy) Sutton, stepchildren Sheldon (Patty) Quick and Carol Quick-Moralez, several grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bruce R. Quick and her siblings Dennis, Louis, and Jeanne.
Celebration of Life will be held from 10am to 2pm on Thursday, January 15th, 2026 at the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing. Interment will take place at the Maple Hill Columbarium in Hibbing.
Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
