Lenore Mecham Sumsion, 86, passed away in Mesquite, Nevada on October 19th 2025 surrounded by her adoring family. She was born on April 7, 1939 in Duchesne, Utah to Ephraim. Leslie Mecham and Linda Thompson. Lenore grew up in Springville, Utah and graduated from Springville High School. On December 12 th 1957, she married David Sumsion. In their 67 years together, they built a wonderful life centered on family and service. For 38 years she dedicated her talents to running the successful catering business, Seventy Second Street Catering in the Salt Lake City. During which time she developed many lifelong friendships and memories with her employees and clients.

In 2019 after a lifetime of hard work and service, Lenore and David retired to Mesquite, Nevada. There she spent her time doing the things she enjoyed most, painting, gardening and serving the lord.

Lenore is survived by her devoted husband, David Sumsion; sister Edna (Dick) Neer; children Kris (Corey) Sumsion, Terry Butterfield, Johnny Sumsion, Marlisa Bouck; four grandsons and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters. 

Lenore was a life long active and endowed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints, faithfully serving a Genealogy Service Mission.

Lenore will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, unwavering faith and her incredible edibles that have delighted so many.

A private service will be held for family. Interment at Mesquite City Cemetery on Hardy Way.
