Leo "Nemo" LaClair, born on September 1, 1964, at Pontiac General Hospital, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024, in Pontiac, Michigan. A beloved son, partner, brother, uncle, and friend, Nemo leaves behind a legacy of warmth and laughter.
Nemo dedicated over 20 years of his life to his work as a thread roll machinist at Terry Machine, where his skill and commitment were valued by colleagues and friends alike. An alumni Holly High School, class of 1982, he carried with him a sense of pride in his community and a strong work ethic.
Nemo was a passionate fisherman, often spending weekends by the water, reveling in the serenity of nature. He also loved watching professional football, where he could be found cheering for his favorite teams with infectious enthusiasm.
He is survived by his loving parents, Gloria and Duane LaClair; his significant other of 33 years, Shelli Lyons; siblings Debbie LaClair (Jim Turner), Edward (Michelle Carr) LaClair, and Brett LaClair; and cherished grandparents Arthur and Violet Rains, and Virginia and Norman Hubble.
Nemo's extended family includes aunts and uncles, Robin Isbell, Sharlene LaClair-Chick, Barbara Adams, Carolyn and Barry Radtz, Leo LaClair, Betty and Wayne Sams, Helen and Jack Rouse, Phyllis Sommers and Judy and Al Peel. He was a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews: Carissa and Randy Walker, Tyler Tick, Kyle and Shelby Cain, Connor Patterson, Katie LaClair, Jacob LaClair, Angel Diaz, Avayah Diaz, Emma Allard, and Lilyana Degeorge, and great uncle to Cameron, Madalynn and Jaycee who will remember his playful spirit and kind heart.
Nemo's warmth and joy will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held at 4pm Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the Hart Community Center 495 Broadway, Davisburg, MI 48350, and visitation will be until 8 pm where family and friends will gather to share memories and honor the incredible man he was. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Nemo's name to a local charity that supports outdoor recreation and conservation, reflecting his love for nature.
Rest in peace, Nemo. Your spirit will forever shine in our hearts.
