Leo J. Lamarre, 76, of Brick, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ. Leo was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, received his bachelor's degree and master' s degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ. Leo began his 40-year career as a mechanical engineer in 1971. He worked for Grumman Engineering, Long Island, NY, Foster-Wheeler, Clinton, NJ and Union County Engineering, Scotch Plains, NJ. Leo was a private pilot and was passionate about flying airplanes. He expressed his passion in building model airplanes with significant attention to detail. He truly enjoyed socializing with family and friends.
Leo is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years Theresa (nee Kadir) Lamarre of Brick, his loving daughter Lindsay Lamarre and her fiancé Eddie Young of Washington, DC. He is also survived by his beloved cousins who were like his siblings, Jeanne Gramsammer and Jim Neylon in addition to many loving relatives. Leo was predeceased by his sister Barbara Magnani.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 4-7 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ 08736. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Friday, February 10, 2023, at St Martha's Church, 3800 Herbertsville Road, Point Pleasant, NJ 08742. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation National Headquarters, 6520 North Andrews Avenue Ft., Lauderdale, Florida 33309-2132 or St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 To send condolences to the family please visit www.orenderfamilyhome.net.
