Jonathan "Jon" Mark Fonseca of Brick, NJ unexpectedly passed away on February 8, 2023 at the age of 52. Jon was born to Mervyn and Elsa Fonseca on January 10, 1971 in Queens, NY.
Jon loved nothing more than raising his children and being a part of their lives. He is survived by his three children Quinn, Zoe, and Jonathan, his one granddaughter, Charlotte, and his wife, Dru. His pride for each of them was evident and came through whenever he spoke about them. He is predeceased by his father, Mervyn Fonseca and survived by his mother, Elsa. In addition to his siblings, Dave and wife Kelly Fonseca, Susan and daughter Emily Britland, and Stephanie and her husband Dan Macaluso, and their children, Jack, Alexa, and Julia. Jon was predeceased by his father Mervyn and cousin Andrew. Though he left us far too soon, the impact Jon had on his children, family, friends, and community will never be forgotten.
In addition to his family, Jon had a joy for having a good time and uplifting others around him. Whether it was attending his children's sporting events, becoming the lead singer of a U2 cover band, or sharing various sarcastic jokes, he found a way to put a smile on others' faces. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, watching The Office, playing with his dog Nala, or the trials and tribulations of every New York Rangers season.
His family will host a funeral service on Tuesday, February 14, from 4-8pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation in Jon's name either online at https://hlundqvistfoundation.com/donate/ or mail a check to The Henrik Lundqvist Foundation, c/o Adeptus, 733 State Route 35 North Suite A, Ocean, NJ 07712.
