Leo E Scheier

On the evening of March 28th, 2025, Leo E. Scheier of Saint Augustine, Florida passed
peacefully surrounded by his family, at the age of 82.
Leo was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 3, 1942. After his graduation from Wilbur Wright Co-operative High School in July of 1960, Leo enlisted in the United States Army. After his time serving our country, he began working with Ford Motor Company. He later transitioned to the United States Postal Service, where he worked to his retirement, after a dedicated and fulfilling career.
Outside of work, Leo was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and spending time on the golf course. A devoted Detroit Lions fan, he never missed a game, always sharing the excitement with family and friends. In his later years, Leo enjoyed completing crosswords and reading the newspaper.
Leo is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Ruth Scheier, siblings: Frank Scheier, Edna Pahl (Raymond), and Paul Scheier, son-in-law Joseph Shakar, and brother-in-law Gene Bonzack. He is survived by his loving sisters, Carol Bonzack and Jeannie Molnar (George); sister-in-law Julie Scheier, two cherished daughters: Ruthie Shakar and Judy Burchfield (Joe); grandchildren: Alex (Kimberly), Michelle (Zach), Heather (Michael), and Ariel; great-grandchildren: Dakota, Rhylynn, Colten, and Everleigh; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as best friends: Ron, Pete, and Big Mike.
Leo's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
