Leo George Schollmeyer 90, of Tipton, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Tipton Oak Manor.

He was born on February 13, 1935, in Boonville to William and Adela (Schuster) Schollmeyer. Leo attended Mountain Grove School and graduated from Tipton High School in 1954. He was very proud of his FFA achievements and work ethic. Leo was a lifelong member of St Andrew's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 1360.

Leo worked for Yontz Meat Packing until it closed, then Save A lot, Russellville Locker and then built fences. He also farmed and had cattle which he nurtured and grew to a large herd. Leo enjoyed farming the old ways, mixing his own feed, using what he learned over the years. He went in and out of retirement, helping friends whenever he could. He was a part of 4 H for years helping with their hams and giving advice from his many years of being a butcher. Leo enjoyed hunting when he was younger and later in life, he lent a hand getting the deer processed.

Preceding him in death, both of his parents, and Francis Joseph Schollmeyer, his brother in 1991 and Helen Bowers (Patton) Schollmeyer, his sister in-law in 2022. He is survived by his nephew, Mike (Randa) Schollmeyer, Patty Schollmeyer, Cathy Maddex and Wendy Rimel. Great nephews, nieces as well as great-great nephews and niece.

Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 9:45 am with visitation immediately following until service time at St Andrew Catholic Church on Friday, June 20, 2025. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am at the church with Father Anthony Viviano officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Andrew Catholic School Foundation or the Tipton 4-H.
