Kristopher Scott Schollmeyer was born September 6, 1964, in Monroe, WI, the son of Carl and Mae (Stromsett) Schollmeyer. Kris was a graduate of Clinton High School. He served his country as a Cryptologic Technician in the U.S. Navy from March 1983, to March 2, 1987. He then earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Industrial Relations at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. He worked towards a degree in Education, studying Special Education/Psychology at Grand Valley State University.
On August 8, 1987, Kris was united in marriage to Tracey Scheffer of Monroe, WI. This union of 37 years was blessed with three children: Sarah, Drew, and Isabelle.
Kris was passionate about his career as a special education teacher with Kent ISD in Grand Rapids, MI. He treasured his students and colleagues. He had a particular affinity for technology, cinema, and travel. He loved his trip to Norway with his sisters in 2017. In April 2025, Kris and Tracey enjoyed a magnificent trip to the United Kingdom. Above all else, Kris cherished spending time with his family.
Kris is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Schollmeyer and Mae Schollmeyer; his brother, Craig Schollmeyer; and his sister, Vicky Hubbell.
He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Tracey (Scheffer) Schollmeyer of Hudsonville, MI; his daughter, Sarah Schollmeyer of Salem, OR; his son, Drew Schollmeyer of Hudsonville, MI; and his daughter, Isabelle Schollmeyer of Cape Cod, MA. He is also survived by his sisters: Colleen (Mel) Martin of Dysart, IA; Karla (Kevin) Brekke of Edgerton, WI; and Kristine (Jim) White of Brodhead, WI; his parents-in-law, Kathleen (Ted) Scheffer of Monroe, WI; brothers-in-law Scott (Beth) Scheffer of Minneapolis, MN, and Alan Hubbell of St. Bonifacius, MN; his sister-in-law Amy Rautmann of Lansing, MI, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27th from 5:00-7:00 PM at VanderLaan Funeral Home (4917 32nd Ave) in Hudsonville, Michigan.
The funeral will be on Friday, May 30th at 11:00 AM at Luther Valley Church (7107 S Luther Valley Rd), Beloit, Wisconsin. There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service, burial in the church cemetery and a luncheon to follow.
