Funeral services for Mrs. Leola Crane Ezell Jones will begin at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Kristina Crabtree and Mr. Don Moore officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites at Pine Grove Cemetery in the Martin Community. Service music will be provided by Mrs. Jill Aycock and Mr. Jay Crane. The Jones Family will receive guests from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM prior to funeral rites in the chapel. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Jones, 80, of Meridian, died Friday, November 21, 2025, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, following an extended illness.
Leola was a founding member of The International Singing Brakeman Association (TISBA). She was a Christian by faith and was an avid country music fan and Elvis fan, and was known for her vast collection of Elvis Memorabilia. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Leola enjoyed cooking and was renowned for her banana pudding. She was an animal lover and especially loved her cats. Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, were all traits of Leola; she exhibited the Fruits of the Spirit to all she encountered. Leola always added joy to all she met. She will be remembered for her birthday and anniversary cards and special wishes.
Leola is survived by her husband of 22 years, Glyn Jones; children, Debbie May (Gene), Deanna Bowles (Randy), Jeanna Rutledge (Wayne); bonus children, Glyn Jones, Jr. (Shelly) and Lisa Jones Reynolds (Kevin). Grandchildren, Michael Alexander (Samantha Hagwood), Frances “Sissy” Eaves (Bradley), and Floyd Maseda, Jr. (HaeRee); great-grandchildren, Willow Alexander, Elim Alexander, Caroline Eaves, Collins Eaves, Shepherd Alexander, and Aiden Rutledge; bonus grandchildren, Arthur Jones, Conner Reynolds, Michael Rutledge (Melissa), Steven Rutledge (Rachel); Siblings, Theola “Peewee” Grayson, Donnie “Sugar Baby” Moore (Linda), Webb Moore, and Delton Moore (Bobbie Neil); sisters-in-law, Myrna Crane, Teresha Moore, and Janet Dearmond (Hokey); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Ezell; parents, Barrett Crane and Lucille “Mama Cille” Crane Moore; her step-father, Larkin “Papa Larkin” Moore; her brothers, Milo Crane, Jr, Jimmy “Put” Crane, Tommy Crane, Bobby Moore, Ulmer Moore, Jimmy Moore, and Veggie Moore; her sister, Imogene Bullock; her Father’s-in-law, Robert Ellis Jones and James Bryant Ezell, Sr.; Mothers’-in-law, Pearl Ezell and Oleta Boykin Jones; her sisters-in-law, Patsy Ezell Shumate, Lois Gumbert, Barbara Rayner, Clara Crane, Jo Heinz, Sadie Tidwell, Fairy Jean Bishop, Lula Mae Crane, and, Dot Crane; and her brother-in-law, James Ezell, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Crabtree, Michael “High Pockets” Thomas, Ryan Moore, Michael Gray, Brian Ricks, Jay Crane, and James “Jimbo” Crane. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Shumate and Buddy Simmons.
The Jones Family suggests memorials be made as donations to Calvary Baptist Church- Meridian, Concord Methodist Church – Enterprise, or to EMAR (East Mississippi Animal Rescue), in lieu of flowers.
