Mr. Robert "Bob" Horton, age 76, of Meridian, MS, passed away Thursday at Ochsner Rush Hospital.
Bob worked for many years as a manager in television and broadcast radio in Meridian, MS and Birmingham, AL. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, and later in life he found joy simply sitting in the woods and watching the wildlife. He also loved gardening and working in the yard.
He was a huge University of Alabama athletics fan, particularly football, ROLL TIDE.
Bob was known as Papa Bob to his three grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Diane Horton; sons, Cade Horton (Shannon) of Chelsea, Alabama and Paul Horton of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren, Shelby, Molly, and Reid, all of Chelsea, Alabama; sister, Melinda Bonner, of Conehatta, MS, and his nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Faye Horton.
