Leon D. Allard, age 86 of Corsicana, Texas, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025, at his home in Corsicana, Texas. He was born on September 1, 1938, in Hobart, Oklahoma to Edwin and Loma (Sheets) Allard. Leon graduated from Hobart High School in 1956. After a year at Cameron College in Lawton, Oklahoma, he transferred to Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas where he graduated in 1961 with a BBA Degree in Accounting & Economics and a 2nd Lt. Commission in the U.S. Army. Leon married Carolyn Lou Brumley, whom he met in college, in July 1961. He entered active-duty service the following October. While in the service, he attended the Army's Advanced Infantry School at Ft. Benning, Georgia. He also successfully completed the Army's Parachute Training School while at Ft. Benning, proudly wearing his "Jump Wings" through his active and reserve duty assignments. Upon graduation, his permanent duty station was at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina with the 13th Psychological Warfare Bn. 5th Special Forces Group (ABN) and completed the US Army's Special Warfare School... He remained in the Active Reserve for 8 years as a member of the 12th Special Forces Group (ABN) and received an Honorable Discharge at the rank of Captain in 1971. His professional career included a 25-year relationship with Gifford-Hill & Company, Inc., Dallas, Texas, advancing from an entry level accounting position to Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, taking early retirement in 1990. Subsequent years were divided between Motor Home traveling and providing financial counseling services through a joint-venture program between the Small Business Administration and Navarro College in Corsicana and surrounding communities. During the full retirement years, he continued to enjoy motor home travels while increasing his involvement in Church and community activities. In March 2001 he became interested in bicycling for enjoyment and health. Survivors include his wife Carolyn of 64 years, one son, Bradley Wayne and his wife Robin of Burleson, Texas; one daughter, Amy Allard Green and husband Michael of Corsicana, Texas; and four grandchildren; Haydn and Sarah Allard, Taylor and Ava Green. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Cecil Wayne and Edwin Darrell (Corkey) Allard, and sister Leta Mae Allard Smith.
