Leon Bradley Anziano, 83, of Gulfport, Fl passed away on October 20, 2025, at the River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury, CT surrounded by family. Leon was born on April 29, 1942 in Springfield, MA to the late Felix and Rose (Teece) Anziano.
He graduated from Classical High School and received a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University. He had a very successful career in the Chemical Industry – first with Diamond Shamrock and then Olin Corporation. Leon retired from Arch Chemicals as CEO and President of the Chlor-Alkali Division.
After retiring, he went into teaching Corporate Strategy at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT and also the University of New Haven in West Haven, CT.
Leon loved spending time with his family, enjoying many family vacations. He was an avid golfer, Boston Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins fan; and enjoyed watching college football. He was a member of the Men's ministry and was a lector for St. Mary's church.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, Stephanie Anziano, he will be sadly missed by his children: James Anziano; Paul Anziano (Kim); Stephen Potpan (Michelle); Mark Anziano (Fran); John Anziano; David Anziano; Christopher Anziano (Laura); and his only daughter Antoinette Mills (Mike). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, and one brother Michael Anziano (Kathy).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Gordie Anziano; his sister Mollie and her husband George Plant.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, October 29th at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave, Bethel between the hours of 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 30th at St. Mary Church, 26 Dodgingtown Rd, Bethel at 10:30 am. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Save the Children.
