Leon Herman Obituary
A member of North Fork Baptist Church, Leon found great solace and purpose in his faith community. His passions were simple yet profound: attending to his flourishing garden, caring for his spirited chickens, and, above all, being a wonderful daddy and papaw. His gentle spirit and nurturing nature left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
Leon was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Christopher and Clara Osteen Herman; his cherished wife, Margaret Herman, who departed on September 19, 2023; and his dear grandson, Noah Jones; and two brothers, Jackie Herman and Carroll Herman.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his surviving family, his four children, Michael Herman and wife, Debra, Mark Herman and wife, Donna, Summer Jones and husband, Andrew, and Matthew Herman and wife, Amy. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren, Cory, Hunter, Tanner, Hannah, Autumn, Eli, Ella, and Andrew, and a joyful great-grandfather to Fisher. His sister, Freda Conner, and her husband, Phil, along with numerous nieces and nephews, will carry forward his loving memory.
Leon's life will be celebrated with a graveside service on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville, officiated by Pastor Tommy Wallace. While he will be deeply missed, the warmth of his spirit and the strength of his love will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
