L. Daniel Slusher, husband of Becky (Rebecca) Joye Slusher, passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved wife and family. Dan was born in 1947 in Middlesboro, Kentucky then moved to Milford, Ohio where he graduated from Milford High School in 1966 as a two-time member of the Eastern Hills League championship winning basketball team. Dan played basketball for and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana College in 1970, married his college sweetheart Becky in 1971, and returned to Milford where he helped raised his three children.
Dan was resolute in his faith, served as President of the Milford Miami Township Chamber of Commerce ('96-99), and remained an active steward of the community he loved. He delighted in sharing his love of photography, sharing the story of playing against "Pistol" Pete Maravich, and spoiling his grandchildren with milkshakes and ice cream. Above all, he was a fierce advocate for and protector of his family.
Dan is survived by his wife Becky; children, Grant Slusher (Kate) of Milford, Whitney Swinhart (Jerrod) of Galion, Ohio, and Aaron Slusher (Katie) of Silver Spring, Maryland; and six grandchildren, Ayden, Henry, Jackson, Joye, Kendall, and Millie.
A viewing will occur at John H. Evans Funeral Home, 741 Center St, Milford, OH 45150 on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Mary Miller Milford Miami Ministry, 844 Ohio 131, Milford, OH 45150.
