JoAnn Meguire Ross

Mrs. JoAnn (Meguire) Ross, age 88, of Vevay, Indiana, JoAnn entered this life on March 1, 1937 in Milford, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Marion "Pud" and Nora (DeWitt) Meguire. She was raised in Mulberry, Ohio near Milford and was a 1955 graduate of the Milford High School. JoAnn was united in marriage to Frederick Walter Ross on May 10, 1958 in Ohio and this happy union of over 52 years was blessed with four children, Frederick, Julie, Jenny, and Jeffrey. JoAnn was a former clerk treasurer for the City of Rising Sun, Indiana for several years. She also worked for Hilltop Basic Resources in Patriot, Indiana. JoAnn was a wonderful homemaker and was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aurora, Indiana. She was a former member of the Rising Sun Phi Beta Psi Sorority and the Rising Sun Home Economics Club. JoAnn passed away at 2:15 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
JoAnn will be missed by her sons and daughters, Julie Thiemann and her husband, Thomas of Aurora, IN, Frederick "Fred" J. Ross and his wife, Rita of Vevay, IN, Jeffrey Ross and his wife, Esther of Houston, TX, and Jenny Finchum and her husband, Bill of Indianapolis, IN; her grandchildren, Adam (Josephine) Kreinhop, Emily (David) Staab, Morgan (Derek) Turner, Tanner (Katie) Ross, Jesse Ross, Amy Ross, Tyler Finchum, and Travis Finchum; her great-grandchildren, Kylie McCoy, Carson McCoy, Addison Kreinhop, Hailey Kreinhop, Grant Kreinhop, Theo Turner, Bristol Turner, Elsie Turner, Owen Ross, Wrenly Ross, and Brooks Spiers; her sister, Vivian Schroeder of Milford, OH and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marion "Pud" Meguire, died April 13, 1981; her mother, Nora (DeWitt) Meguire, died January 7, 1976; her husband, Frederick Walter "Fred" Ross, died December 8, 2010; and her brother, Marvin Lee Meguire, died August 24, 2015.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Thursday, August 28, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 203 4th Street, Aurora, Indiana 47001.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, August 28, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 203 4th Street, Aurora, IN 47001.
Interment will follow in the Rising Sun New Cemetery, Rising Sun, Indiana,
