Leon Webster Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 15, 2025.
Mr. Leon Dewey Webster Jr., age 80, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at his home in Yucca Valley, California, after a brave battle with cancer. Born on July 5, 1945, in Oakland, California, Leon lived a vibrant and meaningful life that touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Leon was a proud veteran of the armed forces, having served his country with honor and dedication. After his military service, he enjoyed a career as a talented hair stylist-a profession that allowed him to express his creativity and connect deeply with others. His artistry and warmth made him beloved by clients and colleagues alike.
Leon's life was marked by love and devotion. He shared 50 joyful years with his husband, David Testa, whom he met in the Bay Area. Their bond was one of deep affection and mutual respect. Together they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support. Eventually settling in Kona for nearly two decades, Leon found solace and belonging there-he often said he had seen the "writing on the wall" and knew he had found home.
Known affectionately as "Uncle Lee," Leon was a cherished husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He brought joy to every family gathering with his adventurous spirit and loving soul. A beacon of light among his loved ones, in the 1970's he famously taught all of his nieces and nephews how to dance "The Hustle," turning ordinary moments into treasured memories. Leon's meticulous nature extended to his home life as well-he often joked that, "it was never enough, never good enough, and never done right"-a sentiment inherited from his mother Olive's high standards.
He is lovingly remembered by his life partner David Testa; sisters Patti Bondi and Noreen Frankfort; brother-in-law Dennis Testa; sisters-in-law Maria Nannini and Roselle Lowrance; brother-in-law Jeff Lowrance; nieces Toni, Shawn, Jamie, Tracy, and Marny; nephews Vic, Rick, Jim, Bill, Dan, Anthony, Joseph and Andrew, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents Leon Sr. and Olive Webster; sister Donna Clenney; brother Gary Webster; nephew Rob; and great-nephew Robby.
Arrangements are being handled through Wiefels Yucca Valley Mortuary in Yucca Valley, California. Interment will be announced later and will take place at Oak View Memorial Park in Antioch, California.
