Leonard Turner, age 86, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, at his home in Wichita, Kansas.

Born on May 21, 1939, in Durham, Arkansas, Leonard was one of nine children in a loving family. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Melba Turner, as well as his brothers Johnny, Leon, Doss, Norman, and Cecil Turner, and his sisters Velma Harris (of Wichita) and Joann Turner. He is survived by his sister Rosie Vanover, who continues to reside in Durham.

Leonard was a loving father to four children: Rocky Turner (deceased), Carla Wilson of Kansas City, Missouri; Judy Turner of Hutchinson, Kansas; and Waylon Turner of Wichita, Kansas. He also took immense pride in his three grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

Known for his quiet strength and warmth, Leonard cherished the simple pleasures in life - taking leisurely walks, spending cherished moments with family, and watching Westerns on television.

A graveside service in his honor will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Old Mission Cemetery, located at 3424 E. 21st Street N., Wichita, KS 67208
