Leonard A. Gage, a cherished patriarch, and pillar of the Brookfield community, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, at the age of 75 in Elmhurst, IL, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on March 4, 1950, Len's journey through life was marked by his spirited passion for family, baseball, softball, and more recently hockey.

Len's life was a testament to his thoughtful nature and the care he had for those around him. His beloved wife, Terri Gage, predeceased him, leaving a legacy of love that continued to flourish through his children, Matt (Stephanie) Gage, Katie (JC) Phelan, and Dan (Elizabeth) Gage. Len was a proud grandfather to Jack, Danny, Michael, and Jimmy Phelan, as well as Dalilah Gage, and Emily and Claire Gage, who were his pride and joy. He never missed an opportunity to keep up with their activities and sports, celebrating their achievements with the same enthusiasm he had for life. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Gage, with whom he shared many cherished memories.

Len's passion for baseball was unparalleled, a love affair that began in his youth and continued throughout his life. As a lifetime member award recipient of the Brookfield American Little League, he not only coached the game but also instilled the values of teamwork and perseverance in countless young athletes. A die-hard White Sox fan, he was known for his unwavering loyalty to his team and took great pride in never having set foot in Wrigley Field.

Beyond the diamond, Len served his community as a Village Trustee in Brookfield from 1987 - 1994, demonstrating his commitment to public service and the betterment of his hometown. He spent his entire career at Reynolds Aluminum in McCook, where his dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression on his colleagues.

Summers were a special time for Len, as he cherished the moments spent with his family at their beloved Chalet on the Lake. These precious days were filled with laughter, love, and the stories that only Len could tell, capturing the hearts and imaginations of both young and old.

Len's life was a vivid tapestry woven with the threads of his spirited enthusiasm, passionate devotion to his interests, and the thoughtful consideration he showed to everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Len's legacy will continue to inspire and influence those who were fortunate enough to have been part of his remarkable story.

In honor of Len, a visitation will he held at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave. on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. A prayer service will be held at 3:30 pm.
