Leonard Earl Jeffcoat

Mr. Leonard Earl Jeffcoat, 64, of Hickory, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Catawba Valley Medical Center, following a period of declining health. Leonard was born on September 21, 1954 in Pennsylvania, to the late Wilber Lee Jeffcoat, Sr. and Emma Kathren Jeffcoat. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War and was a retired Deputy with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office. He will be missed by all who loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Emma Kathren Schaffer. Survivors include his wife, Connie Miller Tucker of the home, one daughter, Jessica Kenzie Jeffcoat of Gastonia, a stepdaughter, Angela Miller of Hickory, and one brother, Rev. Wilber Lee Jeffcoat Jr. and wife Margaret of Sumter, SC. Also surviving is a grandson, Grayson Spencer Jeffcoat, two step grandsons, Dylan and Trevor Little, three nieces and nephews, five grand nieces and nephews and his two fur babies, Faith and Cassie. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. at Smyrna Baptist Church in Taylorsville with Rev. Michael Barber officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. at Smyrna Baptist Church in Taylorsville. Memorials may be sent to the D.A.V.,882 21st Drive SE, Hickory, NC 28602.
