In Loving Memory of Leonard Joseph Kasprzyk
Surrounded by the warmth of his family, Leonard Joseph Kasprzyk departed this life on January 15, 2026, at the remarkable age of 99. Affectionately known as Dziadzi, Leonard's legacy is one of devotion, service, and love. As the eldest of thirteen siblings, he set a steadfast example from an early age. His pride in serving as a Marine during World War II was evident to all who knew him, as he wore his Marine hats, sweatshirts, and jackets with honor. Leonard's commitment to his faith and community was unwavering-he was a founding member of St. Kieran Parish, served as an usher for over six decades and was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus.
After retiring from Ford Tractor at 59 and a half, Leonard embraced more than forty years of retirement, cherishing each day. He was known for his meticulous care of his home and garden, a reflection of the perfectionism that defined him. Together with his beloved wife of over sixty years, Annabelle, Leonard raised four children: Leonard (Kemo), Frances, Steven, and Jean. His devotion extended to his grandchildren, for whom he was a constant source of support and affection. Generous and loving, Leonard's presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.
Following Annabelle's passing, Leonard found love and companionship once more, marrying Marie Wandeloski. Their sixteen years together were filled with joy and shared adventures, from casino visits and card games to savoring a glass of wine with dinner and the occasional Southern Comfort Manhattan.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Marie; daughters Frances (Kenneth Sr.) Meerschaert and Jean Shellabarger; grandchildren Carrie (Tyler) Scott, Susan (Joe) Steen, Kenny (Michele) Meerschaert, Ann Margaret (Brian) Meerschaert, and Jeffrey (Katie) Shellabarger; great-grandchildren Desirae, Blain, Chase, Lauren, Sarah, Mackenzie, Jacob, Zander, Jeffrey, Joshua, Jemma, and Jagger; and great-great-grandchildren Aiden, Connor, and Ulysses. He is also remembered by his brothers Bob (Corine), Mike, Jim (Cheryl), sisters-in-law June, Shirley, Regina and a host of nieces and nephews.
Leonard will also be greatly missed by his bonus family, the Wandeloskis, with whom he shared many joyful years filled with laughter and good times. Their close bond brought additional warmth and happiness to Leonard's life, and his memory will continue to be celebrated within their family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Annabelle, sons Leonard and Steven, and siblings Pat, Richard, Joan, Dave, Ella, Kathy, Joseph, John, and Mark.
Leonard's life was a testament to generosity, resilience, and the enduring bonds of family. His memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
