Roger Yetter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home on Feb. 3, 2026.
Roger was born on August 5, 1955 to Elmer and Virginia (Johnston) Yetter in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Roger had a special lifelong connection to animals, especially horses which he had several at different times. His favorite horse named Duke was his last.

Roger had many years of lessons with horses in which he became an accomplished rider. He would always say "you have to let the horse know who's the boss". He trained his horse with compassion and took great care in grooming and maintenance. His lessons learned were courage, trust, respect, and responsibility for his beloved horse.

Roger was definitely down to earth with a gentle spirit. He had a deep bond and passion for western riding and care for equines. He loved his trail riding adventures with fellow friends and showed his horses in competitions earning him several ribbons. Roger's nieces and nephews from a young age loved to visit his horse and spend time at the stables.

As he rides off to his final sunset he was a true equestrian at heart. Roger found peace in the barn and freedom on the saddle. Known for his love for the trail and his gentle hand with horses Roger has finally ridden off to greener pastures.

Roger also enjoyed watching westerns and John Wayne, music and all animals. At times he was a real character and got into a bit of mischief in his younger years. He delighted in boating, camping, fishing with his father and long bike rides. He also had a passion for karate and the martial arts earning several belts. He helped in the care of his mother at home and when she was in a nursing home he would daily ride his bicycle miles to visit her. He loved the holidays and enjoyed spending nights at his brother or sister's home.

Roger was a devoted uncle and loved spending time with nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his siblings, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Adored son of the late Elmer and Virginia (Johnston)Yetter; beloved brother of Raymond (Cheryl Ann) Yetter, Carol Ann Colasanti and Janet Lynn Yetter; cherished uncle of Rachel (Don) Geml, Michelle (Brian) Bush, Michael Colasanti, Stephanie (Olaf) Stockly, Devin Eaton and Tyler Eaton; great uncle of 7 nieces and nephews.
