Leonard C King

Leonard Charles King was born December 13, 1946, in Ft. Worth, Texas to Lottie Mae Higgins and Melvin Raye King. The family moved to Austin in 1952, and Leonard attended public schools graduating from LC Anderson High School. After graduation, Leonard entered the US Army and served with honor. In 1975, Leonard moved to Chula Vista, California where he lived until his death. He retired from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department where he worked as a nurse.
Leonard is preceded in death by his mother, Lottie Butler, his father, Melvin King, and a sister, Jean Esther Hamilton. He is survived by his sisters Patricia Ann Brown and Paula Raye King-Bedford, brothers Paul James King (Rita) and Michael Butler (Diane), his children Matthew, Kennan, and Trey and daughter Jessica King; and his lifelong partner, Karen Hovey and host of nieces, nephews and friends.
His Smile
Though his smile is gone forever and his hand I cannot touch, I still have so many memories Of the one I loved so much. His memory is now my keepsake, Which with I'll never part. God has him in his keeping I have him in my heart. Sadly missed but never forgotten.
