Leonard Shark, 86 of Little Falls, N.J., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
Born in Paterson, Leonard was a lifelong resident of Little Falls and a proud member of the community he served so faithfully throughout his life. A veteran of the United States Army, Leonard honorably served his country before continuing his commitment through the Army Reserves. Leonard worked as a project manager for Merrimac Industries in West Caldwell, where he dedicated many years before retiring. His dedication to public service extended far beyond his military and working career. He was a devoted member of Singac Fire Company #3 for over 60 years, where he also served as treasurer. He was a proud member of American Legion Post #108, actively supporting fellow veterans and civic initiatives. Leonard was an active member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church in Little Falls, where he served as a Trustee.
Predeceased by his parents, Steven and Anna (nee Pelak) Shark, his brother Raymond Shark and sister-in-law Ann. He is survived by his loving companion of 45 years, Patricia Ross; caring nephews, Steven Shark and his wife, Christy, Michael Shark and Andrew Shark and his wife, Christina. Survivors include 9 great-nieces and nephews, 4 great-great-nieces and nephews and a host of extended friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 13, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls. Parastas will be offered at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, April 14 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist R.O. Church, Little Falls. Kindly meet directly at the church. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, N.J. Memories and condolences may be shared at gaitamh.com.
In lieu of flowers donations in Leonard's memory may be made to St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, 29 Weaver St., Little Falls, N.J. 07424 and/or Singac Volunteer Fire Company #3, 517 Main St., Little Falls, N.J. 07424.
