Leonard L. Souva, 78, of Caseville, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Marlette Regional Hospital.
Leonard was born October 29, 1946 in Bad Axe to the late W. Raymond and M. Fran (Gottschalk) Souva. In 1964 he graduated from North Huron High School. He served in the US Army in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968. He married Beverly Klein on November 7, 1981at St. John Episcopal Church on Sand Point.
He worked at Michigan Oven and retired from Evenheat Kiln, both in Caseville. Leonard was a 4-H Leader for 15 years and a member of the Huron County Sheriff's Posse. He enjoyed line dancing, having coffee at local restaurants, riding horses (especially Jackson), raising llamas, and known for his fun-loving personality. He enjoyed teasing people, especially kids by calling them Stella or Pete. He was proud of his 44 years of sobriety. Most of all, he loved his family, and would do anything for them.
He is survived by his wife Beverly; daughters Kim Kretzschmer of Bad Axe and Krista (Tom) Kuhl of Bay Port; grandchildren Andrew (Giselle) Kretzschmer, Brandon Kretzschmer, Korey King, Jason (Dani) King, his favorite Ashley Kuhl, Jillicia Wagner; Tony (Payton) Bambach, Jacob Bambach, and Ryan Bambach; great-grandchildren Chase, Sofia, Camilla, Arya, Zane, Isla, Lucas, Meya, and Morgan; brother Robert (Linda) Souva of Kinde; sister Rose Miller of Owosso; sisters-in-law Caroline Souva and Barbara Klein; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-mother Frances Klein Souva, son Ronald Souva, daughter Nancy Bambach, brother Daniel Souva, sister Mary Antoszewski and brother-in-law Vern Klein.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am Tuesday, November 19th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Karen Bouverette officiating. Visitation will be 2-8 Monday.
Memorials may be made to Thumb Animal Shelter.
