Leonida “Lee” “Toots” Marie (Berns) Fritz, age 93 of Perham, MN died Wednesday, August 20, 2025 in Perham Living. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, August 26 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Perham with Fr. Omar, Fr. Nathaniel, and Dcn. Richard Quistorff officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Leonida was born November 26, 1931 in Perham to Leo and Agatha (Siebels) Berns. She attended school at District 128 and St. Henry’s School. Leonida married Urban Fritz on May 2, 1951 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church. She was an active member of St. Henry’s Christian Mothers and Holy Family Catholic United Financial for over 50 years. She raised her family and then worked at the Perham Bakery for over 20 years. Leonida was also an active member of the Perham Senior Center. Urban died November 28, 2000.
Surviving Leonida are her seven children: Mary (Jim) Carow of Oregon, Joseph (Donna) Fritz of Perham, Leo (Janelle) Fritz of Ottertail, MN, John Fritz of Perham, Rose (Mark) Fritz-Winkel of Sartell, MN, Dennis (Mary) Fritz of Perham, and Daniel Fritz of Perham; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Joseph (Barbara) Berns of Perham; and sister-in-law Joyce Berns of Virginia.
Preceding Leonida in death were her parents; husband Urban Fritz; father and mother-in-law Albert and Otilla Fritz; brothers James (Nell), John, Jerry (Janice), and Charley (Elaine); sisters Catherine (Norbert) Doll, Rita (Albert) Rotta, and Mary Lou (Bill) Stoderl; sister-in-law Betty (Ray) Eraker; granddaughter baby girl Fritz, grandson Bryan Fritz; great-granddaughter Amelia Schaefer and baby girl Fritz; great-grandsons Keston Fritz and Joseph Kegley; and Godson Mike Eraker.
