CLARK, Leota Catherine (Wieser) – of Burton, age 95, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025. A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated 1:30 PM Friday, January 31, 2025, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 5191 Richfield Rd., Flint, MI 48506; Rev. Fr. Roy Horning celebrant. Interment will take place following the Mass in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. A Rosary will be prayed Thursday afternoon at 4 PM. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Church or Care Team Hospice.
Leota was born in Kingman, KS on August 29, 1929, daughter of Pete and Gertrude (Osner) Wieser. Leota graduated from Kingman High School in 1947 and graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. She married Louis A. Clark on November 15, 1952, in Wichita, KS. After the wedding, the couple relocated to France during the Korean Conflict and had their first child. They returned to Flint, MI, bought a home and continued to grow their family. Leota was a devoted wife and mother to six children. Leota worked as registered nurse. She retired from the American Red Cross in 1988. She was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards and traveling. Leota was an experienced quilter and loved making quilts for those she loved. She was caring grandmother and proud great-grandmother.
Leota is survived by her children, Deborah Phillips, Mark (Lynda) Clark, Brian (Karen) Clark, Brenda (Burton) Holt, Julie (Jeff) Nelms; 7 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis A. Clark; her daughter, Catherine Clark; and siblings; Lewis Wieser, Coletta Pitman, Lawrence Wieser, Blanche Boose, Alice Clouse, Pauline Clement.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you and deep appreciation to the staff of The Ridge of Burton and the staff of Allen Funeral Home.
