Mr. Leroy Hill Jr affectionately known as "Wee Wee" was born on July 24. 1976. He was born to Ms. Betty Ashford and the late Leroy Hill Sr. On Sunday November 23, 2025, Leroy peacefully departed from this earthly realm at Providence Northeast Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.
Leroy was educated in the Fairfield County School district, and he was a graduate of Fairfield Central High School class of 1995. During his high school years, he played football for the Fairfield Central Griffins. He was also a member of the Team Institute club that was under the leadership of Danny Miller.
He was loved by many and was never a stranger to anyone at Fairfield Central or any place that he may have went. Leroy began his working career at the age of fifteen years old at Captain Gallery Seafood where he was employed for over 15 plus years. He also was employed with Sonic where he serve for more than 10 plus years until his health started to decline.
Leroy accepted the lord at a young age and he was baptized. He became member at St Paul Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor T. Corbin in his younger days. Leroy knew the goodness of the Lord. Leroy enjoyed the simple things in life in his spare time, including spending time with his family that he genuinely loved, spending time with his friends, going out to eat, and spoiling his niece Zyon which he often said that she was his baby. Throughout his life, Leroy had a kind heart and was a sweet genuine spirit that everyone loved. He was there for everyone that he encountered.
Leroy memory will be forever cherished by his mother Betty Ashford of Winnsboro S.C., his sisters Bonny Butler of Atlanta GA, Barbara Hill of Winnsboro S.C, Angel Hill of Winnsboro S.C, two nieces Jameshia "Zyon" Hill and Layuni Williams of Winnsboro S.C, three aunts Carolyn Johnson of Charlotte N.C., Mary Walker of Columbia S.C., Emma Ashford of Charlotte N.C., one great aunt that was very special to him Mamie Lou Johnson of Winnsboro S.C., four uncles Michael Hill of Hinesville G.A., Riley Ashford of Detroit MI., Curtis Ashford Las Vegas NV., Bobby Hill of Charlotte N.C., one great uncle Jesse James Adams of Winnsboro S.C., a special cousin Kevin Trapp of Winnsboro S.C. Leroy had a few special friends that dearly loved him Deon Evans, Billy Hughes, Brain Ruff, and the Pauling's of Pauling Barber Shop of Winnsboro S.C.
Leroy was proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents Preston and Elizabeth Hill, his father Leroy Hill Sr., his maternal grandparents Riley and Oralee Ashford, his uncles David Ashford, and Freddie Hill and his aunt Sandra Ashford.
His kindness and his genuineness in the community will live on in the hearts of the countless people that he touched.
Funeral service will be 1 pm Tuesday December 2, 2025 @ St Paul Baptist Church, 207 N. Garden St. Winnsboro SC 29180 with burial @ Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday December 1, 2025 from 12 noon to 6 pm @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.
