Leroy “Roy” Viateur Ehrhardt of Sioux City, Iowa went home to be with Jesus at the age of 84 from his residence by natural causes on September 27, 2023. 

He was born on August 27, 1939, to John Viateur Ehrhardt and Constantina Gretchen (Marlas) Ehrhardt in Humboldt County, Iowa near Algona, Iowa where he grew up.  He served a tour in the Army and received the Parachutist Badge.  He was best known as the owner of Kar-Life Battery company in Sioux City. 

Roy is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Gloria Burlison and Mariel Fallon, and his foster brothers Merle, Larry and Jerry Mead. He is survived by his former wife Paulette Ehrhardt of Overland Park, Kansas; his sons: Leroy “Lee” Ehrhardt Junior of Sioux City, Iowa and Jeremy Ehrhardt of Melcher, Iowa; his daughters: Dianne Roening (Matthew) of Overland Park, Kansas and Rebecca Bird (Derek) of Bryant, Arkansas; his nine grandchildren, his two great-grandchildren and his foster sister, Marilyn Holcomb of Humboldt, Iowa

The family would like to thank Siouxland Hospice for the care and compassion they shared during the fourteen months of guidance.

Graveside service will be held at Arlington Cemetery 1427-1437 East Main Street Moville, IA 51039 on October 20, 2023, at 10:00 AM.
