Lessie Allen was born in Eunice on September 16, 1941. She attended Eunice high school and married shortly thereafter. She was the proud mother of six sons. After raising her children, she pursued a dream of becoming a certified nursing assistant. She was employed for several years as a caregiver and sitter before retiring and becoming a homemaker. She enjoyed reading and studying scripture, gardening, and cooking for family gatherings. The time she spent with family - especially her sons, was so very special to her. She was the proud grandmother of 10. She was often heard bragging about her sons' and grandchildren's accomplishments.
She will be sadly missed by all family and friends, especially her husband Benny, who cared for her dearly, through her decade long battle with Alzheimer's.
She is survived by her husband, Benny Allen; sons, Kim Kelly (Michelle) and Marc Kelly (Michelle); grandchildren, Jeremiah Kelly, Mackenzie Kelly, Shelby Kelly, Evan Kelly, Miranda Harrell, Hailey Nation, Chance Nation, Brittney Kelly, Lucas Kelly and Drake Kelly; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ula Hebert and Louise Gautreaux Hebert; sons, Kip Kelly, Kit Kelly, Rusty Kelly and Phillip Kelly; grandson, Christopher Kelly; sister, Elsie Reagan; and brother, Lawrence Hebert.
Pallbearers will be sons, Kim and Marc Kelly, grandsons, Shelby, Evan and Jeremiah Kelly and step-son Benny Allen, Jr.
