Lester Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Graniteville on Dec. 20, 2025.
Mr. Lester Horace Davis, 74, of Johnstown, SC, husband of the late Jean Quick Davis, entered into rest on Saturday, morning, December 20, 2025, while in the comfort of his home following a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of the area, he was the son of the late Lester Paul and Irene Fail Davis. He attended Graniteville High School and later worked as a crane operator for Daniels Construction. He later worked for Aiken County, where he retired as a Motor Grader Operator.
Lester was a kind and gentle soul. However, he could and was never afraid to stand his ground when needed. He enjoyed minor engine repair, especially lawnmowers, riding his tractor, and looking for the best deals at auctions with his brothers, Eddie (Kathie) Davis and Jimmy (Brenda) Davis. He was happiest, however, when he was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Along with his brothers, Lester is survived by a sister, Jeanette Manor; Jean's children Karen, Randy (Dawn), Angela (Barry); grandchildren Westley, Michael (Leslie) ; great-grandchildren Makinley (Daral), Kaydence (Roy), Kolton (Alexis), Isaiah; great-great-grandchildren Beckham, Duane and Ryker; a special niece Kaylie Lock (Danny) as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Also preceding him in death were his only child, Jason Davis, and siblings, Reggie Davis and Darlene Davenport.
Friends will be greeted by the family on Friday, December 26, 2025, beginning at 1 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Brother Bill Branch will officiate. In accordance with his wishes, Lester will be cremated following the service.
