Leta Paulette “Sisse” Pfieffer, age 72, beloved wife of Michael Pfieffer, and a resident of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at The Lantern at Morning Pointe in Spring Hill.
Born on April 20, 1952, in Maury County, Tennessee, Sisse was the daughter of the late Harry Pressnell and the late Pauline Norman Pressnell. On August 7, 1971, she married the love of her life, Michael Pfieffer, and together they shared over 53 years of marriage. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University and dedicated her career to education, teaching at Spring Hill schools and Zion Christian Academy from 1984 to 1998. A member of Grace Center in Franklin, Sisse’s faith guided her as she touched lives through missionary work across the globe. Known as a "mom to many," she was a loving mother, "mother in love," and Mamaw whose warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Michael Shae (Lauralee) Pfieffer of Columbia, daughter, Rebecca (Scott) Nichols of Culleoka, sister in law, Teresa McClure of Columbia, grandchildren, Leanna (Joshua) Testerman, Michael Job (Addy) Pfieffer, Gabriel Pfieffer, William Pfieffer, Reed Pfieffer, Lilly Nichols, Cole Nichols, Elise Nichols, Adalyn Nichols, great grandchild, Milo Pfieffer, and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Allen Pressnell and Johnny Pressnell.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Lantern at Morning Pointe for their compassionate care and support during this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Pregnancy Centers of Middle Tennessee, 704 Dunnington Street, Columbia, TN 38401.
A celebration of Sisse’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Connection Church 291, Wayne Street, Columbia, TN 38401. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
