Letha Mae (Hamp) Wartsbaugh, 93, of Oblong, IL passed away on Wednesday February 1, 2023, at Ridgeview Nursing and Rehab.
She was born in Westville, IL on March 28, 1929 to Harry and Margaret Olive (Lee) Hamp. On March 16, 1951 she married Leo H. Wartsbaugh, who preceded her in death on July 25, 1995.
She was a lifelong farm wife. She had also worked a Ettlebrick Shoe Factory in Robinson, IL and at Allen Sanitarium in Robinson, IL as an aide. She had attended Westville Schools and was a member of the Seed Chapel Methodist Church. Letha enjoyed sewing, flower and vegetable gardening. She loved to watch hummingbirds, deer and other animals that walk through her yard and she would feed. She also loved her dogs Annie and Trixie and her cats.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Harold and Roanna Wartsbaugh, Oblong, IL and Randy and Lori Wartsbaugh, Stoy, IL; a daughter and son-in-law Regina and Jim Stephenson, Oblong, IL; ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces Linda Roberts and Carla along with great nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a brother Evan Hamp and a sister Pauline Burris.
Celebration of Letha's Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday February 9, 2023, at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, IL. Burial will follow in Oblong Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday February 8, 2023, at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, IL. The family requests that in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Oblong Antiques Tractor and Engine Association with envelopes available at the Funeral Home or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL 62449.
