Leticia "Letty" Dimas Karstedt, aged 61, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 20, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, due to a hemorrhagic stroke. Born on October 28, 1963, in
Corpus Christi, Texas, Letty was a beacon of joy and kindness in the lives of those who knew her. She will be remembered for her loving nature, her sense of humor, and her ability to make friends with ease.
Letty grew up in the warm embrace of Corpus Christi, where she flourished both socially and academically. After graduating from W.B. Ray High School, she ventured into the world of property management. Her career spanned several decades, during which she became known for her exceptional dedication and expertise as both an apartment manager and a property manager.
In her personal life, Letty was a passionate soul with a myriad of interests that brought her and her loved ones countless hours of joy. She cherished the outdoors, frequently found camping and fishing, reveling in the natural beauty of Texas. Bar-b-queuing was another favorite pastime, as she loved to gather friends and family for a feast under the Texan sky. Letty's green thumb led to a beautiful garden that reflected the care and attention she gave to every living thing. She also had an eye for home decorating, turning her own home into a warm, welcoming haven that reflected her personality.
At the heart of Letty's life were her cherished family members. She is survived by her devoted husband, John Karstedt; her beloved son, Vincent Brulloths; her treasured mother, Rachel Dimas; and her respected father, Jesse Dimas. Letty's spirit will also live on through her siblings, Debi (Paul) Gomez, Diane (David) De Los Santos, Daniel (Kathleen Mullen) Dimas, and Devry (Patrick) Avet. Her memory will be lovingly held by her nieces Christine (Dustin) Sanchez, Dayna (Eric Rios) De Los Santos, Kelsey Rios and Caitlin Gomez, as well as her nephews Brandon Gomez, David (Nikki Sanders) De Los Santos Jr., Aaron Pegley, Dylan Avet, and Charles Avet. She will be a twinkling star in the skies above her four great-nephews and two great-nieces, reminding them always of her love and light.
Letty's life was a testament to the power of love and friendship. She embodied the famous words of poet Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Indeed, those who knew Letty will forever hold onto the warm, uplifting feelings she imparted through her presence.
