Erica Guerra Obituary

Erica Dawn Freeman Guerra, born October 10, 1978, in Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on September 26, 2025.

Erica was loved dearly by all. She was an exceptional daughter, sister, aunt, best friend to many, wife, and mother. Motherhood was by far her favorite and most cherished role.

Erica played softball for St Mary's University, where she graduated with a double major in Chemistry and Biology. She then joined the Air Force Reserves and attended Texas A&M University Corpus Christi – earning a Bachelor of Science – Nursing.

She was sunshine in human form: loyal, brilliant, stubborn in the best ways, and always ready to make an ordinary day extraordinary. She had a love for all desserts, Disney, Harry Potter, and the Astros. She also enjoyed festivals, live music, and family time.

Erica is survived by her wife of 12 years, Audrey and their son Parker. Her parents Alan and Sondra Freeman; her siblings Jennifer Freeman, Jordan Freeman, Laura Garcia (Jeremy), Jana Freeman, and Jonathan Freeman (Kristin). Anthony Guerra (Monica); Alex Guerra (Christine), and Andrew Soto (Kat). She was the proud and loving aunt to 19 nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many other cherished family members, lifelong friends, and her beloved "family" – all of whom she impacted deeply with her love, humor, and joy.

She wanted to include a special message: There were so many people she held close to her heart. For all of those who volunteered for Houston trips – you helped make every appointment feel like a mini vacation. To her co-workers that called, text, and sent cards – you were a great team. And to her friends that flew in just to spend the weekend – thank you all for making her feel loved.

Erica's family and friends will carry her memory forward in laughter, song, and every small joy that made her life so bright. Her love – especially the love she gave to Audrey and Parker will forever live on in their hearts.

Erica and Audrey want to thank those who provided visits, laughs, meals, grocery runs, pup checks, helped with yard work, and made poke runs for Parker. It was all greatly appreciated. We never felt alone in this battle.

She was loved by many…She will be greatly missed!
