Lewis Hart went home to be with his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ on August 9, 2024. Born on April 30, 1951, in Greer, South Carolina, Lewis was the beloved son of the late James Oscar Hart and Mary Lenora Mason Hart. His life was a testament to his love for God and family.
Lewis retired from RSC Equipment Rental in 2007 were he was a truck driver.
He will be missed by his wife of 42 years, Jonell Burgess Hart. In addition, he is survived by his sister Elaine Howard, and his children Tim Hart (Nickie), Justin Hart (Kaitlyn), Lewis Jr (Kelly), Karen Witherington (Mike), Thea Rice, and Sylvia Headen. Additionally he is survived by his grandchildren Liam, Levi, Kailea, Aliza, MaKenna, Vayda, Kimberly, Kayla, Alexis, Derrick, Sydney, Peyton, and Dawson, as well as his eleven great-grandchildren. Recognition for a special nephew, Lyle Hart and family friend Brenda Maden.
He was predeceased by two brothers Jim and Bill Hart and his sisters Frances and Martha Hart
A memorial service is planned for Tuesday August 13, 2024 at 3 o’clock at Cleveland First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 to 3 before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the building fund of Cleveland First Baptist Church, PO Box 305, Cleveland SC, 29635
