Lewis Lang Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Sumner on Nov. 5, 2024.
Lewis Eugene Lang passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024 in Tacoma Washington. He was born in Richmond Indiana on February 12, 1952 to Charles and Ellen Lang.
Lou aka "Sweet Lou" will be remembered as a true salesman, the forever teller of stories and jokes, one uppers and unique sarcastic sayings that his children always dreaded. A true sports enthusiast, he knew facts and stats on just about every sport out there. His love for Indiana basketball led to being a lifelong Hoosier's fan and a nickname he gave himself "Hoosier Daddy". To say Lou loved the Seattle Seahawks is an understatement, he had been a season ticket holder since 1985 and won a once in a lifetime chance to go to the Superbowl in Detroit the first year Seattle made it. Although the ending of that game was not what Lou wanted, he continued to love the game, the team and was the ultimate fan. The highlight of being a lifelong Seahawks fan led Sweet Lou and Cindi to Germany in 2022 to watch the Seahawks play. It was not unusual to see him decked out in Seahawks gear from head to toe and would often dye his mustache green and blue.
Lou spent his working years as General Manager for Pozzi Windows in Bend, Oregon and Denver, Colorado. He also worked with several other window companies establishing new markets. Lou and family moved to Puyallup Washington in 1981. At the time he retired, he was a regional sales manager for Windsor Windows & Doors.
Sweet Lou had many hobbies including camping, traveling, hunting, fishing and golf but especially bird hunting with his many English Setter and Gordan Setter dogs. He was an active member of the Seattle Seahawkers Booster Club, The Tacoma Sportsmen's Club, Pheasants Forever and the Pacific Northwest Gordon Setter Club. When he wasn't busy with all of his hobbies, he was watching some sort of sporting event. He supported all of the local professional sports teams and attended many games locally and around the country. Lou was preceded in death by his father, Charles "Happy Chuck" Lang and his brother Scott Lang. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cindi, his mother, Ellen Lang, children Lisa Lang (Rick), Aaron Lang (Angie), Stephanie Patterson (Dave) and Erica Lang and grandchildren Jordon Lang, Garrett and Faith Morris, Fisher and Oliver Patterson, Kaelyn Anderson and Tristan and Cash Lovell and great grandchildren Tatum and Winnie Morris. He is also survived by his three brothers, Ron Lang, Ed Lang (Marcia) and Don Lang (Tami) and his brother and sister in-law, Bill and Carla Carpenter.
Sweet Lou will be deeply missed by many family, friends and colleagues. All will be welcome at a celebration of life that will take place in early 2025.
