Raymond John Lang, a lifelong resident of Lowell, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26th, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on July 29th, 1939, in Lowell, Ohio, Raymond was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to many.

Raymond was a dedicated and hardworking man, having spent 13 years as an equipment operator with the Central Ohio Coal Company before retiring in 2012. He also contributed 13 years of service to the Washington County Highway Department and worked for 19 years with JA Schwendeman & Sons. Additionally, Raymond spent many years as a timber cutter, showcasing his versatility and commitment to his work.

A proud alumnus of Lowell High School, Raymond was deeply rooted in his community. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, where he found solace and strength in his faith. Raymond enjoyed playing cards and cherished the time spent with family and friends over a friendly game.

Raymond is survived by his loving children: David Lang (Kelly), Kathryn Reed, Kevin Lang (Stephanie), and Victoria Robinson (Dale). He was a proud grandfather to Whitney Serve (Dr. Marc Serve), Danielle Potts (Travis), Ashley Moreno (Rick), Cole Okey, Carter Lang (Heather), and Hallie Lang. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Peyton and Serena Serve, Raymond and Dalton Potts, and Alexander and Aubrey Okey. Raymond is also survived by his siblings: Thomas Lang, Regis Lang, Joseph Lang (Carol), Nelson Lang (Susan), and Marlene Walbert (Dave), along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deanna Elizabeth Hearn Lang, whom he married on October 29, 1960, his parents, George Peter Lang and Mildred Justine Huck Lang, his brothers, Richard Lang and Bernard Lang, his sister, Justine Tornes, and his great-granddaughter, Skylar Okey.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home in Lowell, Ohio, on Monday, March 2nd, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm., with a Vigil Service at 3:00 pm. The Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Lowell, Ohio, on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026, at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Raymond's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, reflecting his generous spirit and love for helping others. His family would like to thank Dr. Cawley, Cawley Hospice and her hospice nurses, Kim Gandee and Danielle Rake, and primary care nurse, Angie Brooker.
